Small seeds with a big impact on PMS, menstruation, and menopausal symptoms
The female monthly cycle is regulated by two key hormones: estrogen and progesterone. Symptoms can arise when these hormones are not properly balanced.
The menstrual cycle consists of two phases:
Phase 1: Menstruation to ovulation (approximately two weeks)
During this phase, eggs mature and estrogen plays an important role.
Phase 2: Ovulation to the next menstruation (approximately two weeks)
In this phase, the uterus prepares for a possible pregnancy, and progesterone becomes essential.
For a healthy cycle, it is important that these two hormones remain balanced. Estrogen may dominate during phase one, but not excessively. An excess of progesterone does not usually occur, but a deficiency is possible.
