Psyllium Husks (organic)
What is it?
This is organic psyllium husk, the outer layer of the seeds from the Plantago ovata plant. The husks are carefully cleaned and dried into light flakes, valued for their very high fiber content.
What does it taste like?
Psyllium husks are virtually tasteless, with a mild, neutral flavor. They absorb liquid quickly and form a gel-like texture.
What are the possible health benefits?
Extremely high in soluble fiber, which supports digestion and bowel regularity
Suitable for both constipation (softens and bulks stool) and diarrhea (binds excess water)
Can contribute to healthy cholesterol levels as part of a balanced diet
Helps increase satiety and may support weight management
How much should you use?
Start with 1 teaspoon (about 5 g) once daily. Mix into a large glass of water, stir immediately, and drink before it thickens. Always drink an extra glass of water afterwards. Intake can be increased to 2–3 servings per day if needed.
How to use it for specific needs:
Constipation: Take with plenty of water to soften stool and promote bowel movement.
Diarrhea: Mix with less liquid or stir into yogurt to help firm the stool.
Weight management: Take before meals with water to create fullness and reduce appetite.
Important: Psyllium must always be taken with sufficient liquid. Without enough fluid, it can cause blockage in the throat or intestines. Not recommended for those with swallowing difficulties.
How can you use it?
Mix into water, juice, or smoothies
Add to yogurt or porridge
Use as a natural thickener in baking or raw recipes
Blend into homemade energy bars or breads for extra fiber
